other ideas

  • Listserves: many departments run their own lists and would allow posting of events. Contact the individual departments and ask about their lists.
  • Student Programs Events List: Student Programs runs the events list that goes out to campus-wide subscribers. For information on when the list appears and rules for sending materials to post, go to http://studentprograms.tulane.edu/events.php.
  • Chalking: Tulane has a policy covering where and how announcements can be chalked (see Designs for Success Posting Policy). If you use this method of publicity, be witty and original or your message will go unnoticed.
  • Class/meeting announcements: Invite classmates or members of other organizations to your event by speaking briefly at the beginning or end of classes or meetings. Always ask permission of the instructor or meeting chair before doing this!
  • TUCAN: To have your message shown on TUCAN, e-mail your request to tucan@tulane.edu. Remember to specify the dates during which you’d like your message to air.
